Those Pesky Eskies Come to Town.

This task should prove to be the toughest for the coaching staff of the Saskatchewan Roughriders. After coming off a disappointing 21-20 road loss to the Eskimos, coach Austin has to rally his troops and get them prepared for Saturday’s tilt against those same Eskimos. The Riders showed well in the first half, going into the locker room sporting a 20-1 lead, only to give up 20 points in the second half.

What will coach Austin do different in this game??? Well I can tell you this; players will be held more accountable for their actions. Fan favourite, Andy Fantuz has already been demoted to the bench for Saturday’s game due to his lack of production on the field. This move may just be the spark needed to inspire the starting roster and lead them to victory.

S far this year Austin has been able to gain the players’ respect and has so far coached a very disciplined team. Although, in their two losses that same undisciplined team has given up 9 turnovers and have committed 20 penalties…both far too many and both are far beyond their season average. So if coach Austin Can keep their team disciplined, he will more than likely move his team into second place ahead of the Edmonton Eskimos.

The Roughriders have the edge on defense and special teams, but I’d have to give a slight edge to Edmonton’s offense. As long as the Rider defense can provide pressure and keep Ray on his back, a victory should come rather easy for the Riders. The Eskimos typically play far better at home, so I expect that home field advantage should also play into effect for this game.

Result:

Eskimos: 24
Roughriders: 33

That’s all I got for today!
Enjoy the game, Rider fans!
